1. Using PlateTaken

These terms apply to your use of platetaken.com and its features. By using PlateTaken, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service. PlateTaken provides tools for researching vehicle plates and managing related information.

2. Your Account

Provide accurate account information and protect your sign-in credentials. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Contact us promptly if you suspect someone has accessed it without permission. Use the service only where you are legally permitted to do so and have authority to enter any purchase you make.

3. Plate Checks And Registration

PlateTaken is independent of state motor vehicle agencies. A check reports information available at the time it runs; it does not reserve a plate, guarantee availability, or approve registration. Results can change, be incomplete, or become unavailable. Only the issuing agency can determine eligibility, approve a combination, and register or transfer a plate.

Generated ideas and suggested variations are not availability results unless separately checked. Confirm fees, character rules, and ordering requirements directly with the issuing agency before making a purchase or application.

4. Watchlists And Notifications

Saved watches help you track combinations within your plan’s limits. Checks and email delivery depend on supporting services and may be delayed or interrupted. A watch or notification does not give you priority over other applicants or guarantee a registration opportunity.

5. Ownership Claims And Listings

Submit claims only for plates you are entitled to represent, and provide truthful supporting information. A claim reviewed on PlateTaken is a site record, not a government determination of ownership. We may request corrections, reject submissions, or review deletion requests.

A listing does not establish that a plate can legally be sold or transferred. Participants must independently confirm identity, ownership, state restrictions, and transaction terms. Posting a price does not make PlateTaken a party to a transaction between users.

6. Material You Submit

You remain responsible for your photographs, messages, listings, and other submissions. Give us only material you are authorized to provide. You allow PlateTaken to store, process, and display that material as needed for the features and visibility settings you use. Avoid uploading unrelated sensitive information or another person’s private documents.

7. Acceptable Use

Do not impersonate others, submit fraudulent claims, harass users, upload harmful code, or attempt unauthorized access. Do not bypass usage limits, misuse checking services, or automate activity in ways that disrupt the site or its providers. We may restrict activity or remove material to address misuse.

8. Plans And Payments

The pricing page and checkout describe the price, billing interval, and included features for your selected plan. Recurring subscriptions renew according to the checkout terms until canceled. The 30-day Pro pass is a one-time purchase and expires without automatic renewal. Payment is handled through Stripe.

Paid access begins after payment verification. Plan allowances apply to searches, saved watches, claims, and other included features. Features described as planned or unavailable are not promised as part of a current purchase.

9. Cancellation And Payment Questions

Use Manage Billing from My Account to manage a recurring subscription. When cancellation is scheduled for the end of a billing period, access normally continues until the displayed end date. Immediate cancellation, payment failure, refunds, or payment disputes may affect access sooner. Canceling renewal does not by itself request a refund.

Contact us about a billing error or refund request. Any mandatory consumer rights remain applicable. Returning to Free changes your available allowances; it does not itself transfer or cancel a plate registration.

10. Privacy And Removal Requests

Our Privacy Policy explains how account information, plate activity, submissions, billing records, and support messages are handled. Use the available account and claim controls or contact us for assistance with removal. Account deletion, claim removal, and subscription cancellation are separate actions.

11. Other Services

Authentication, billing, email, hosting, plate checks, and linked state websites may be provided by other organizations. Their terms and availability may also affect your use. PlateTaken does not control decisions made by a state agency or the operation of a third-party website.

12. Site Content

PlateTaken’s branding, software, and original site materials are protected by applicable intellectual property rules. Access to the service does not transfer ownership of them. Third-party names and materials remain associated with their respective owners.

13. Availability And Limitations

We work to keep PlateTaken useful, but cannot promise uninterrupted operation, error-free results, or that a suggested plate will be accepted. Evaluate information before relying on it. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is supplied without additional guarantees of suitability or availability. Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Restricted Or Ended Access

We may limit or suspend access when necessary to investigate misuse, protect accounts, respond to legal requirements, or address service risks. Contact us if you believe a restriction was applied in error. Ending access does not remove obligations arising from earlier activity.

15. Applicable Requirements And Disagreements

You must follow applicable requirements when using PlateTaken, including the rules of the state responsible for your plate. If a disagreement concerns PlateTaken, contact us with the relevant details so we can review it. These terms do not limit protections or access to remedies that applicable law requires.

16. Changes

We may revise features and these terms as PlateTaken develops. The revision date appears above. Changes to an existing purchase remain subject to its checkout terms and applicable notice requirements. Review updated terms before continuing to use the service.
