Process, conditions, and sources
- Rule: Standard personalized plates can’t go to another person. Only My Plates auction plates with a term of at least five years can be sold, gifted or inherited.
- Form: VTR-900. The fee is $25.
- Source: Available with Pro or Premium

- Confirm whether transfer to this recipient and payment are permitted.
- Ask which forms, fees, plate classes, and vehicle-transfer conditions apply.
- Confirm how the agency protects the requested configuration during the process.
- Get the agency’s instructions before releasing your rights or paying the other person.
