Wyoming: transferring a plate to another person
Yes
How To Accomplish
Written relinquishment (MV-416)

Confirm current requirements for your plate type with the issuing agency before proceeding.

- Write a letter relinquishing the combination to the buyer.
- The buyer submits it with MV-416 to WYDOT Motor Vehicle Services.

Before arranging a transfer

- Ask which forms, fees, plate classes, and vehicle-transfer conditions apply.
- Confirm how the agency protects the requested configuration during the process.
- Get the agency’s instructions before releasing your rights or paying the other person.
